Weddings/Use of Facilities
Plan Your Wedding at TSUMC
Thompson’s Station United Methodist Church is pleased to make our church available to couples wishing to marry in a Christian setting. Over the last decade, many couples have celebrated their unions in our historic sanctuary. You need not be a member of our church to use our facility. You may make your ceremony reservations with our Wedding Liaison and negotiate performance of the ceremony with our Pastor or provide your own legally ordained officiant. (No internet ordinations are allowed.)
Our historic country church was built in 1876 and completely renovated in the late 1990’s with the addition of a working bell tower whose bell may be rung joyously following your vows. The picturesque sanctuary with its six stained-glass windows is air- conditioned and seats a maximum of 120. It features plush carpet, a center aisle, comfortable upholstered seat cushions and rich woodwork. We have a grand piano and an antique organ as well as an updated sound system with cassette, CD, and MP3 players and wireless hand-held microphones as well as lapel microphones.
There are 2 restrooms, a kitchen and 3 Sunday School classrooms which open to each other. They have been successfully used for smaller (app. 50 guests) receptions. No alcohol or smoking is permitted in the church or on the church grounds.
Our church has a small garden with a rustic iron gazebo that can be used as a photo backdrop. The day of your ceremony, our lighted, stacked-stone sign will announce your wedding to all who pass by.
The church may be booked for your special day by calling or e-mailing our Wedding Liaison (see below). You will be given a personal tour of our facility and a chance to ask questions about booking your ceremony. Our Wedding Liaison or representative will also be present to assist at the rehearsal and ceremony.
We invite you to begin your married life here at Thompson’s Station United Methodist Church.

Eligibility for Use of Our Facility
First Priority is given to TSUMC’s meetings and activities.
Groups outside the church may, subject to a fee, use the facilities when they are not already scheduled for use of church functions.
A review by the Administrative Board will determine the eligibility of any outside organization to use the facilities. This board will act on requests to waive fees for non-profit, ministry related organizations. In some instances the Board may further request that a Certificate of Insurance be provided by an outside group naming TSUMC as an additional insured for the purpose of covering liability and property damage or accidents that might occur on church property.
Facilities are not available to outside groups for profit making activities or to organizations engaged in partisan political activities.
See the section on Weddings concerning usage and reserving the church.
